Biography
I am a self-taught artist who was introduced to abstract painting in 2004 where I discovered a passion and love for it that has grown within me. I started painting canvases at the beginning of 2005, and after having enjoyed it so much and having such positive feedback I decided to carry on and experiment with different colours, paints and designs. As the demand grew from friends and family for my canvases I was able to take my painting to the next level and I am now ready to expand my market. My style is contemporary/abstract. I mainly use acrylic paint, and the use of mixed mediums and textures on my canvases ensures each one is individual and unique. I tend to sign my canvases on the back, thereby giving the buyer more freedom in choosing which way to hang my work. I take inspiration for my work from many things, i.e. my surroundings, nature. I am always looking for ideas with colour and constantly view things from a "canvas" point of view! I enjoy experimenting with colour and texture and like the addition of metallic and pearlescent paints to add another dimension. They can enhance the picture in a subtle way and add interest by changing the look of the painting depending on the angle of the light.
Exhibitions
April 2006:
I enjoyed a successful first exhibition at Mumbles Art & Craft Centre, Swansea.
September 2006:
My work is being displayed in The Renaissance Restaurant in Swansea and The Blue Ball Restaurant in Tenby. I am also exhibiting some pieces in Gallery 54 in Ross-on-Wye from 29 September.
November/December 2006:
Exhibiting some pieces in Oriel Queens Hall Gallery in Narberth at their "Open Show", taking place between 11 November and 23 December.
